Kid Nation was a 2007 American reality show hosted by Jonathan Karsh on CBS. The gist of it all was they took 40 kids from different parts of the US, with age ranging from 8 to 15 years old, and placed them in a ghost town called, "Bonanza". For over a month, they had to try to run the town by themselves; it included having four different 'teams' or 'classes' (each of which had a specific role in the town like cooking and cleaning) and a town council comprised by each of the teams' leaders. Tedious challenges were required to be done every week in order to determine which class a team will go to. And if the challenge is successfully completed, they had two prizes to choose from. Usually, the prizes were either a long term or a short term benefit to the town, but if you fail to succeed, you're stuck with nothing.
The town council also awarded a gold star worth 20,000 US Dollars to one kid every week who the town thinks deserves it the most.
Sounds like a pretty cool show right? Well it was!
