CRWN
|
King Puentespina a.k.a. CRWN makes the most downright chill tunes. He's been compared to artists such a The Weeknd and James Blake, which are both very accomplished artists themselves. Some would also say that he creates the kind of music you would want to bang to and well, we can’t argue with that. Seriously though, he’s one of the best Filipino artists we’ve heard so far. |
TANDEMS '91
Created by Aaron Cruz, Tandems '91's songs are reminiscent of classic tunes mixed with modern beats. There's definitely a funky vibe to them and we're pretty much hooked. You can even here a little sample from Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko by VST and Company at the very beginning of his hit song At Last. He's basically a musical genius. |

The Ransom Collective
|
This indie folk sextet has made a good name for themselves after playing at the Wanderland Festival in 2014. Their songs give off a Mumford and Sons-like mood but they're definitely a unique collective (ha, see what I did there?). What's cool is that we've never heard another Filipino band like them before and it's even cooler that they're gaining much success from their music. |
Reese and vica
We're pretty excited to hear some new material from this duo. They just released an EP last December but we're already waiting for more. Reese and Vica's happy-go-lucky ambience will leave you feeling really good inside. Not to mention, their songs are also adorable just like them. |

b.p. valenzuela
|
B.P.'s been around for quite a while but we're still not tired of hearing her dreamy voice and sweet synths. If you listen to her on a rainy night at 4am, it'll definitely hit you right in the feels. She resembles Owl City with an edge and we just absolutely love her unique sound. You definitely wouldn't find another Filipino artist just like B.P. She also has a new EP coming out this March. |
We hope you take the time to listen to these great Filipino artists and celebrate their musical ingenuity! Discover more acts and support your local music scene :)
