See what I mean below.
Every Disney fan has watched "Cars". (If you haven't *gasp* what kind of child are you??) If you've watched it, you know that Mater is one of the best things that happened to Pixar, and that it's pretty amazing to see automobiles act like humans. What's NOT amazing is Cars 2. A movie that big really didn't need a sequel. Cars already had a sufficient ending where everyone was satisfied. I would forgive it if the sequel was as awesome and heart-wrenching as Toy Story 2 & 3, BUT IT'S NOT. Cars 2 didn't show much promise because of the corny jokes and cliché spy theme. It's one of the movies that are a bit overdone and unnecessary
Yes, there is a Mean Girls 2. Another unnecessary sequel to an iconic movie. I don't even know where to get started on this fiasco of a movie. Well, first of all, it's more of a reboot than a sequel, since the previous characters in the first movie don't have any role in the second one. Aside from the tragic casting in the movie, the awful plot also does not contribute anything to the movie. The degree of which Mean Girls 2 is ugly is the same as the degree of which Mean Girls is boss.
You wanna know why Percy Jackson fans hate this movie? It's because MOST OF IT IS SO FAR FROM THE BOOK. I haven't read the books myself, but I asked my friends who are totally obsessed with the book series and they said that a lot of things are not true to the book. For example, Annabeth should have been blonde, not a redhead (AND WHY DID THEY SUDDNELY CHANGE HER HAIR COLOR IN THE SECOND MOVIE TO THE ACTUAL HAIR COLOR WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION??). Another is that they made the characters older, hence changing almost everything in the story. They also made it seem like "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is another teen flick with cheesy music and plot lines, unlike what fans originally imagined as bad ass and Harry Potter-like. I don't even know how Rick Riordan (the author of the series) even allowed all this to happen.
I really don't understand why this movie needed more sequels. It really is just the same plot with more explosions, to be honest. Yes, I guess at some point it was super awesome. I mean, who doesn't wanna see trucks and hybrid cars transform into massive alien robots with guns and other cool-looking weapons sticking out of them. And Megan Fox. But at the last installment (or is there more??), I really just didn't understand what was the point anymore. Explosions? Hot models/actresses? Guns? SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE IT CLEAR.
Very much like "Mean Girls 2", this movie has a bad reputation. But unlike Mean Girls 2, this movie has more mixed reactions from its viewers. It's pretty clear that the casting, acting, and singing are all wrong, and the new songs are subpar; but some people say that no matter how bad it is, there is that something that makes them wanna watch the movie again. Others also say that it's better than the first Grease film. But I say, the original is still the best.
