1. You never know what's going to happen.
Celebrities and their corresponding managements like to surprise fans, which is why it's required to be up-to-date when one is in a fandom. Same goes for TV series and books. Oops there's a music video coming out tomorrow. Oh here's the teaser to the season we didn't tell you about. Oh guess what, there's gonna be a sequel for this book, changed my mind sorry! They may or may not want fans to have a heart attack. Everything happens so fast and so sudden that fangirls nEVER REALLY HAVE A SENSE OF TIME OR PLACE.
2. Timezones. FUCKING TIMEZONES.
If a fangirl could just split herself into two, she would. Things like touring, late telecasts and being a gajillion miles away from your fav make fangirls hate timezones. Which is why fangirls usually have dark circles under their eyes, and constantly miss important events because of sleep, school, or work. It's really not fair.
3. Emotions are confusing??
It's because they're girls, that's why everything is emotional. Notice the overuse of caps lock and the crying emojis? The hundreds of question marks and exclamation points in every sentence?? Sometimes you like it, but at the same time you don't. Sometimes you're ecstatic, and other times you just want to roll on the floor. Sometimes they're so amazing that you hate them. Have I mentioned how everything hurts?? Emotionally and PHYSICALLY. When your fav gets a girlfriend: sTAB ME WHY DON'T YOU. When your fav gets a really hot haircut: HITTING ME WITH A CHAIR WOULD HURT LESS. When the bromance is real: *throws self out the window*.
4. One can never follow enough update accounts
As said before, celebrities love surprises, that's why fangirls often find themselves following about 50 update accounts on Twitter. Twitter is a very powerful tool for fangirls, says Katy Prereyo. It's usually where fangirls share information and make things go viral. Through Twitter, they find out anything and everything. And I mean everything.
5. School vs. the Fangirl Life
Sometimes you really need to study but Twitter and Tumblr is calling on you to check out all the new videos and interviews and episodes. It's a constant battle that will never be resolved.
6. Being in multiple fandoms
Because one fandom is never enough. There's just too many hot papis, and awesome bands, and amazing TV shows out there to only be part of ONE fandom. You can never chose. Being in multiple fandoms also means you got to have a lot of fan accounts (or not if you're lazy), and keeping those fan accounts active. Sigh it's all really hard work.
7. Voting for your fave
Fangirls with multiple fandoms know the struggle of voting on Twitter and on different websites. Sometimes you just don't know who you want to win more. It's a bit time consuming and a bit of a hassle, but never mind that because you're doing it for the love of your life, the one who will never know you exist or ever repay you back for all your love and support!
Buying merch is like taking drugs. You know you don't have any more money but you keep on buying them anyways 'cause they make you happy. It probably won't be worth your money but you buy it anyways.
It's a wonder how fangirls don't get paid, with all the dedication and love that these girls give. For all the constant struggles and obstacles they go through, one should never underestimate the fangirl.
