Why are underaged models in demand anyways and why are they abused? It all comes to their age. Child models are cheaper, given that their age permits them to make mediocre decisions. Agencies and clients can manipulate them because they know little about how business, money, and law works - up to the extent of full and complete social awareness. They are easier to be bossed around, and their innocence is the gate to many mistreatments such as sexual, physical, and moral abuse. And since they are without imperfections, they are the perfect faces as ambassadors to brands. Oftentimes, a career in modeling is made in expense to the education, and full moral and physical development suited for the child. I’m not however directly generalizing that the fashion industry is a pool of mistreatments, but it is a tough business to inhabit in as an individual with very few life experiences in hand.
• “Models cannot work earlier than 5 a.m. and no later than 10 p.m. on schools nights; and no later than 12:30 a.m. on non-school nights.
• An adult must be in the room, at all times, with any model under 16.
• The child’s parent and guardian must set up a trust fund, where employers will have to directly contribute at least 15% of gross earnings.
• A nurse with a background in pediatrics has to be on hand at all times.
• Employers have set aside time and space for their young models to do school work.
Parents or guardians must receive a detailed work schedule for days the young beauties work.”

This law does not prohibit designers from using young models, but they are required to accomplish excessive paperwork that should ensue that all provisions of the law are met
What’s my take on underaged modeling? I think its not that bad of career. I think its something that should be fulfilling and satisfying if done under good conditions.
By virtue of destiny I guess it is good to recognize the dignity of fashion models that are first and foremost human beings and who, by terrible twists of fate, have chosen modeling as a career. We can’t really blame anyone for taking up an occupation that was destined for them, especially if genetics have been very gracious in giving these models good looks for profit. And since the fashion industry's appeal for youthfulness have been a cause for a demand for younger and younger models, who are indeed still so naïve to the real world, we might as well protect them from harm that may arise from industry people who may exploit them. The world is terribly multi-faceted, and is terribly diverse, that it is hard to keep up with what is happening on a day-to-day basis. What’s more terrifying is trying to keep up in a world where one is demanded to be an adult when age and experience is keeping her from being satisfied and fulfilled in that world. A lesson to learn from this: Celebrate youth, don’t abuse it. Besides, it only comes once in a while.
