It is probably an understatement to say - at the very least – that today’s generation of adolescents are becoming more and more acquainted with varied skills so interesting and so beautiful to ponder upon at a very large perspective. Teenagers are becoming an increasingly thought-provoking subject for the adult world, that it seems we can be easily likened to one of those rare gems heavily cared for and displayed in museums. And as likened to a gem whose rare and unique worth of value is as thought stimulating as any other treasure of same significance, I am very much pleased and proud to introduce this month’s gem of a teenager: Elle Fanning.
Known popularly for her roles in Somewhere, We Bought a Zoo, and Super 8, Elle has been recognized as very artistically talented in her field of work. She was nominated for countless awards and has won several noteworthy honors, including Young Hollywood’s Actress of the Year Award in 2007 for Somewhere, and Hollywood Film Festival’s Spotlight award in 2011 for Super 8. However, I appreciated Elle the most for her appearances in a couple of fashion films. Here’s one for Rodarte’s Spring 11, entitled: The Curve of Forgotten Things. The grace and youthfulness she exuded kept me watching and loving the piece.
Now onto her really cool fashion style. Being the muse of huge and awesome brands such as Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, and Miu Miu, Elle has developed sophisticated and tasteful style choices – which makes me wonder if she has ever made a terrible sartorial choice. I love how she veers away from really short and tacky hemlines and knows how to dress appropriately for her age. She adores those quirky nerdy glasses and her beauty choices are elegantly unique, may it be during the MET in Rodarte, or red carpet events in Marc Jacobs or Valentino! She’s well-versed with the industry, even sharing that upon watching a Chanel Haute Couture show, she was able to name very model.
Between acting and travelling, she’s also your normal teenager, who like all of us gets excited when she gets her own school locker (because as per the video above, she was definitely happy getting one). Like all of us as well, she is very excited and optimistic with the future ahead!
Oh did I mention that she’s only 15 years old? Yup I haven’t swallowed this fact either. I am definitely firm on predicting that she’s going to be much more cooler, swankier, and successful as the years go by. As of now, I am off to re-watch Somewhere because it is one heck of a cool movie and well, Elle est fabuleuse!
