Some people don't mind the idea of being alone. While some prefer going out alone, travelling alone, watching movies alone, there are those who are uncomfortable with the idea of being companion-less, especially when it comes to dining out. There are people who work while eating out alone because they're strapped for time and they're working on a deadline. There are also those who decide to work while eating because they would rather look busy to feign loneliness. I guess, it's because we grew up with the feeling that we have to be with other people whenever we have our meals. I, personally, do my papers or read the required texts for class over dinner just to forget the feeling of being alone. Growing up surrounded by my family, I always enjoyed having my meals while we all talk about how our day went or whatever current issue is going on at that time. Moving out to be closer to school, made me miss those hours of chatter while enjoying our food.
