(n.) \ī-ˈden-tə-tē, ə-, -ˈde-nə-\
the qualities, beliefs, etc., that make a particular person or group different from others
As a person, my blog alone differentiates me right away from people. Blogging is immediately one of the words I am associated to. To be remembered or seen in the fashion blogging industry, one must have own distinction. It is not about going with how styles transcend but it is about setting your own forte in terms of style. It is also about making things more interesting as if you’re adding some spices into a recipe.
All I know is that this happens gradually. As I go on with my blog, I get to know myself even more. I learn about my immediate inclination towards black and white. In contrast, I also see that I have admiration for colorful and uniquely structured prints. I also discover my personal and undying love for leather and fur.
My personal style bundles up to three simple words: Classic. Sophisticated. Structured.
Owning a blog with a simple yet aesthetic layout was my goal. As I edited my layout, I made sure that the color palette was purely made up of black, white, and hues of gray. With that, my entries stood out. Also remember to place a blog name or title. Make it meaningful and embrace it because this is how people will know you.
Aside from the usual outfit posts that had several photos and a paragraph of thoughts and feelings towards the look, I love adding additional stories into that entry like mentioning the littlest of details I see in the garments or stating my opinions or guesses about the upcoming trends. Moreover, I’m not fond of making long entries for these posts. I like to keep it clear and concise! On another note, I also like making new posts for my readers like my shops to visit and caption this entries. It’s my way of setting myself aside from the other bloggers, which also shows more of my personality. Moreover, these entries also keep my blog more engaging and fun. As I said earlier, it is about making things more interesting for everyone!
To wrap this all up, I prepared a few tips and tricks for creative outfit shots and blog posts!
Step 1: Make sure your outfit is all in place. No slanted necklaces or any unwanted folds.
Step 2: Be confident. Think of a good pose and the proper angle. Don’t forget to direct your photographer on how you want the shot to look like!
Step 3: Strike the pose and kill the photo! Once you have established your confidence, everything else will follow.
Before starting an entry, think about the purpose of the post. What is it about and what is it for. From there, start brainstorming on how you want your photos to go or how you are going to write your thoughts about it.
Back in the I Know Write Manila event, I always emphasized about being your own person. How you should set your own ways and do your own things. You should keep in mind that your posts should reflect who you are as a blogger and as a person.
Making a good entry lies on the story or on the written content. You can write about your thoughts towards the certain purpose or maybe a backstory to how you made the entry. Moreover, a meaningful post can also be about your say to a certain issue or even your admiration to certain things. Just make sure that it is directly connected to your chosen purpose.
Having a blog means that you are bound to influence other people. When composing a post, always think about what the reader will benefit from it. Will they discover something or learn anything new? Or maybe get some inspiration? Well, this is where everything pays off. When you see that your entry is of use to other people it shows how effective your posts are and how you are becoming someone influential. Remember, blogging is not merely just making entries. It is also about showing individuality and influencing others. It is explicitly voicing out one’s own identity.
