What you’ll need:
- Plain white t-shirt
- rubber bands
- rubbing alcohol
- permanent markers (preferably sharpie or fabric ones)
- black fabric marker
- spray bottle
- trash bag
- pencil (for sketching the design)
- hair dryer
2. TWIST AND TIE
Using the rubber bands, tie different parts of the shirt tightly. There is no specific way to do this, you can tie as much or as less as you want, however you want.
Fill in the tied parts of your shirt with the markers, making sure that each section is heavily pigmented.
You can use a spray bottle or you can directly pour the alcohol onto the shirt. This can get messy so I suggest you do this over a sink or place a trash bag underneath. The colours should bleed so be careful not to get a colour mixed with another unless you want it to.
Leave the shirt to dry for about 30-40 minutes, depending how soaked it is or use a hair dryer.
You can do this freehand or cut out a stencil out of paper first. You can also refer online for some alien drawings you would want to place on the shirt. Of course it doesn’t have to be an alien, you can draw anything you’d like!
